Praise God
Psalm 104:1-35
O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty, Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain (Psalm 104:1-2).
Today, we will worship and praise God for who He is and what He has done. The Psalmist says “O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty” (Psalm 104:1). He understood the greatness of God by affirming his glory, honour and majesty. He went further to recount the things that God does because of who He is.
Friend, we need to praise God in the same way too. Let us worship God for His matchless greatness, power, love and care for us. Let us thank Him and worship Him for being the God of mercy. Let us acknowledge Him as our source, the supplier of all our needs.
It is my personal belief that our generation would have been destroyed due to the extent of our sinfulness and godless attitudes if not for God’s mercy. That is something to thank Him for. If God has blessed you in any way, you need to thank Him. If He has delivered you from harm in the past nine months then thank Him.
Many who were at the Manchester Arena did not know that when their children or parents left home, it would be the last time. Notwithstanding the ongoing insurgence and terrorist activities around the world, God has not allowed them to harm you. Indeed, “Bless the Lord, O my soul! Praise the Lord”.
Your Turn
- Think about God’s love and mercy towards you.
- Worship Him on behalf of your family and friends.
