Praise As A Duty
Psalm 145:1-21
Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name morever and ever (Psalm 145:2).
One of our daily duties, as described in today’s Bible reading is to engage in praise and worship to our God. We must ensure that we make praise, thanksgiving and worship a daily activity.
Beyond activity is the need to see praising God as an exceeding pleasure we are to give God daily (See Revelation 4:11). He is worthy of it all.
The Bible says, “Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever” (Psalm 145:2). This requires a commitment from us. Daily we must find reasons to praise the Lord. This Psalmist shows us how to do this in our passage. Let us look at some of them.
1. We bless the Lord and praise His name because He is great.
2. We praise Him for His mighty acts in our lives and that of our friends.
3. We praise Him when we remember what He has done for us in the past.
4. We praise Him for His mercy and good deeds.
5. We can praise Him for His everlasting kingdom.
6. We bless His name for fulfilling our desires.
7. We praise Him because He feeds us.
Let our mouth “speak the praise of the Lord, and all living creatures will praise his holy name forever and ever” (Psalm 145:21, GWT). The Lord will be blessed in return. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Open your mouth and praise the Lord for all He has done for you, your family, city, nation, and our world.
- Be specific and you will see how good God has been to you.
