Number Your Days
Psalm 90:1-12
Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should (Psalm 90:12, TLB).
Friend, the Lord He is God and He is our Maker. He is the One who has been our dwelling place since we were conceived in our mother’s womb and gave us life. In Him we also continue to live, move and have our being (see Acts 17:28). The Lord God is all we have.
In view of this, and all we have learned this quarter about divine direction and leadership, I want to encourage us to take the time to think about our lives. Let us consider the direction we are heading to see if it is in line with God’s plan. I have learnt over the years, that life is too short and I do not want to live a directionless and purposeless life. That would be a waste to the Lord, the kingdom and perhaps to my family.
It is time to pray, “ Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should “ (Psalm 90:12, TLB). We need God’s wisdom to guide us so that we can spend our lives as we should . What is the purpose of your going to school, getting married and having children? Why are you doing what you are doing right now?
If what you are doing is not helping you to achieve purpose it is time to ask God for help. Remember, there is a time for everything. We will not be here forever. Think on these things. Shalom.
Your Turn
- In what ways can you begin to align your life so that you can live it as you should?
- Pray for your needs.
