Not In The Dark
1 Thessalonians 5:4 -11
You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness (1 Thessalonians 5:5, NIV).
Continuing from where we stopped yesterday, I want to add that rather than get bogged down about when Christ would return, let us focus on our race. Like the Boy’s Scout motto “Be prepared”. Serve the King and wait for His return. That is our duty.
When the world is saying “peace and safety” we will not be deceived because we know He could come at any time. We have been appointed unto salvation therefore we cannot live in the dark. We have the Holy Spirit in us, teaching and warning us about the events of the end times.
Friend, there is no reason to fear or be shaken. We are children of light not of the dark. We do not belong to the dark. The light of the world lives in us and He has called us to be light. Light exposes darkness, it cannot consume it. See John 15:5; Matt.5:14.
Paul said, “Since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet” (1 Thessalonians 5:8). As children of light we must know how to focus on what matters.
Let us encourage one another with these words and continue to serve our Lord and Master fervently. Time is going. Let us preach the gospel and snatch souls from the snare of death and hell.
Shalom.
