My Case Is Different

2 Kings 19:1-19; 35-37
Have the gods of the nations delivered those whom my fathers have destroyed, Gozan and Haran and Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar? (2 Kings 19:12).

Early this year I saw a sticker with the inscription, “My case is different”  on it. I agreed with the word because I knew the prophet that declared that word. As the year unfolded, I began to understand the need to stand on this word so that we would not miss the grace and deliverance that God meant for us.

So, when I read today’s passage what came to my mind was, “My case is different”. When the King of Assyria faced the children of Judah, he ranted and cursed them. One of his statements reads thus, “Have the gods of the nations delivered those whom my fathers have destroyed, Gozan and Haran and Rezeph, and the people of Eden who were in Telassar?” (2 Kings 19:12).

Well, you cannot argue about what his fathers did to the gods of these other nations. But you have a right to say, “My case is different. My God is different. My God is not like the god of these nations. What they did to these other gods they cannot do it to my God. He is the God of gods and the Lord of lords”.

Friend, if you do not get to this level of bold faith, the enemy may continue to have a free day in your life. Think on these things. May the Lord lead you to the solid rock. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Praise God for this word of faith.
  • Pray about your circumstances and make a prophetic declaration based on what you have learnt today.

Hymn:  My hope is built on nothing less (On Christ the solid rock I stand).
