More Knowledge
Colossians 1:3-14
We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge
of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives (Colossians 1:9, NIV).
We thank God for the privilege to read, study, meditate on and know His word. Friend, it is also good to realize that even in our time millions do not have access to the word of God. Let us thank Him for the opportunity we have to read His word.
Many of the people who use this devotional can read and study it on many platforms-hard and soft copy on many devices or media. Since God has been so good to us, there is a need for us to continually hunger and thirst for the truth of His word. We will have no excuse in heaven.
Paul writes, “We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives” (Colossians 1:9, NIV). Why do we need this? Knowledge helps us to be grounded in the word of God and the truth that we know. Through knowledge we gain access to wisdom to know how we can use divine truth and let it inform our lifestyle and habits.
For example, when we gain heaven’s perspective about our situation, it will help us to manage how we respond to such situation. It will also help us to stand in peace and strong in the face of life challenges. Friend, we are not where God wants us to be. Let us pray for more knowledge. Shalom.
