Manage Your Thoughts And Live

2 Kings 5:1-19
Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage (2 Kings 5:12).

We will continue to glean divine truths from the story of Naaman. On arrival in Israel, Naaman and his men went to the king of Israel as planned, but they were redirected to the prophet. The prophet did not come out to meet him, rather he sent him to River Jordan and Naaman got annoyed.

Frustrated, he said,  “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy’ ” (2 Kings 5:11). Disappointed, he lost hope.

Friend, it is time to forget about what you have said to yourself and begin to pay attention to what God is saying to you, or the words of wisdom that He has sent to you through the voice of His servants. Many of us may have told ourselves that this is the way we would make money in 2017, but it failed. It is time to go back to God and let Him lead you.

As you prepare for the New Year, please take time to talk to God. Pray and ask Him to guide and lead you in the way to go. Take your plans to the Lord and let Him approve of them or change them as the case may be.

May the Lord help you as you think this word. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Talk to God about your life.
  • Take your plans to Him and let Him help you to realign them or change them to His plan for you.
