Lord, Increase My Strength

Isaiah 40:28 – 31
He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. (Isaiah 40:29).

Friend, we must not be unwise by waiting until we are beaten to the ground by the enemy before we pray and ask God for strength. Today, we will pray and ask the Lord to increase our strength.

The Bible is clear on its claims that we grow weak and weary. It says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall” (Isaiah 40:30). But we have a God who is willing and wants to help. The Prophet says, “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength” (Isaiah 40:29). That’s our loving God!

Let us pray and ask Him to give us power and increase our strength. When we wait on Him in prayer and through the study of the Word, the Lord will infuse us with life and our strength will be renewed. Jesus said, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).

The Prophet also concludes the chapter saying, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). Let us seek His face. The Lord will answer us. Shalom.
