Look For These Signs

1 Timothy 2:3-6; 1 John 4:1-3
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time (1 Timothy 2:5-6).

When we study the word, we will be equipped. Today, I want to highlight some of the signs that we should look for.

  1. Watch out for teachings and philosophies which deny the existence of God and His control of our world.  The  Scripture says, “In the beginning God created…” See  Genesis 1; John 1.
  2. Doctrines that deny Jesus Christ as the Son of God. When Jesus died, the Centurion, against all odds said,  “Truly this Man was the Son of God!” (Mark 15:39).  See also Jude 4.
  3. Pay attention to teachings that say there are many ways to God. The Bible is clear on this. “For there is one God  and one Mediator between God and men, the Man  Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be  testified in due time” (1 Timothy 2:4-5).
  4. Doctrine that denies the power and the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is clear on the fact that God has  given us His Spirit. See John 16: 8-15.

Remember, “Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God” (1 John 4:23). No matter what other worldviews teach, we will never be dissuaded if we hold on to these truths.  Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Pray for yourself. Pray that you will stand in the truth at all times.

Song: Glory be to the Lord, Alleluia.
