Let’s Watch Our Words

Isaiah 30:15-26
“In returning and rest you shall be saved … but you would not, and you said, “No, for we will flee on horses” Therefore you shall flee! And, “We will ride on swift horses” Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!
Isaiah 30:15-16.

A Christian was involved in an accident. He regained his consciousness at the hospital, and had an impression that
he would recover, and all would be well. But the evidence was contrary. His health care providers also did not help matters.

Many times, during ward rounds with students in attendance, his case was discussed freely, and he knew that it was not a good one. Fear came into his heart. He panicked. Gradually he began to lose faith and saw himself dying. His confession changed from, “ I am healed” to, “if it is God’s will, God will heal me”.

Friend, we must watch our words, especially when the evidence is contrary to what the Lord intended for us. Isaiah
declared what God said to the people, but they said no. Then, God said, have it your way. “In returning and rest you shall be saved … but you would not, and you said, “No, for we will flee on horses” Therefore you shall flee! And, “We will ride on swift horses” Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!” Isaiah 30:15-16.

May this not be our experience in Jesus Name. Let us be alert to what we say and how we say it. May we find the faith and grace to stand on God’s word as we navigate the challenging season of life in Jesus Name. Shalom.
