Let Us Pray
Psalm 124:1-8
“If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us” .
Psalm 124:2.
I know we are in the hustle and bustle of the season, but we can still take some moments off to invest in prayer for the next year. Remember, God stores up our prayers, so whatever we tell Him now, He will not forget. Hallelujah!
First, we need to thank God for the deliverance He gave us throughout the year. Today’s passage says, “When their
anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive” (Psalm 124: 3, NIV). The Contemporary English Version renders it thus: “The LORD was on our side! Otherwise, the enemy attack would have killed us all, because it was furious. We would have been swept away in a violent flood of high and roaring waves.” (Psalm 124: 2-4).
Only God knows how many high and roaring waves He has delivered us from. Below are prayer points that could serve as prayer starters for us:
1. Thank God for all He did for you throughout the year.
2. Appreciate Him for the victories you gained over your enemies.
3. Spend time to count your blessings and thank Him for them. Do not forget to thank Him for your health. Only the living can praise the Lord.
4. Thank Him for the peace in your country.
Your Turn
- Praise God for His wonderful blessings in your life, family, church and nation.
