Kingdom Expansion

1 Thessalonians 1:6 – 9
The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaiayour faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it (1 Thessalonians 1:8, NIV).

When we become imitators of Christ and live right we would contribute to kingdom expansion. Paul explains this further, “The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it” (1 Thessalonians 1:8).

The message they believed spread to other regions. Their faith became known everywhere to the extent that the

Macedonians and those in Asia talked about them. This type of contagious lifestyle will spread the influence of the gospel.

When men see us and read us as Christ’s epistles, then our way of life will become a witness for the Kingdom of God.  When we do this, God will be glad. We will be happy too that we are pleasing the Lord and affecting lives for Him.

The Thessalonian’s hope of eternal life and Christ’s second coming was alluded to because they demonstrated what they believed. O! That our lives would reflect the life of Christ. O! That we would show forth the glory of God and show to others that there has been a change since we met the Lord.

Friend, let us reflect on this word, check our lives to see if we are really living as role models in and outside the kingdom. If we are lacking, let us pray and ask God for help.

Your Turn

  • Thank God for this word.
  • Pray for yourself as you have been ministered to.

Hymn: Is your life a channel of blessing? (Make me a channel of blessing today).
