Jesus Raised The Dead
Luke 7:11-17
When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”
Luke 7:13
I hear the Lord saying to someone today, “Do not weep. I am coming through for you. Everything that appears not to be working and out of alignment in your life will begin to take shape according to My will and purpose for your life”. Amen.
In today’s Bible passage the word in Psalm 106:1 came to mind. The Bible says “Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever”. Friend, all the blessings we have received are the result of God’s mercy and goodness.
We were not told that the widow of Nain prayed or sent a message to Jesus, yet God’s mercy and compassion reached
her. Jesus met her at the point of her greatest need. The Bible says, “When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep” (Luke 7:13). Oh! What a Savior.
This widow has no husband. Now her only child is dead. In the Jewish tradition, she is hopeless. That explains why her case drew such a large crowd of mourners from the city. Imagine if Jesus did not show up. Imagine if they had missed each other! But thank God He is the Lord. He arranged His itinerary to meet the woman’s need.
Friend, the Lord will meet us too. He will visit us for good and change our story. Shalom.
