Intentional Walk With God
Psalm 16:1-11
I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. (Psalm 16:8).
The first area we need to apply the principle of intentionality is in our walk with God. We must ensure that we are intentional about our fellowship with God. We must plan it and live our lives around it.
The Psalmist gives us good understanding when he says, “I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8). Setting the Lord always before him helped him to focus on his relationship with God.
In another place, the Bible says, “I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways” (Psalm 119:15). “I will” means I have decided to do or be involved in something. It involves making up one’s mind.
Friend, it is time to plan our lives around God and not the other way round. We must be dedicated to a personal time of prayer, praise and worship, and study of His word. Please hear me: This is not a year to play with your time with God.
Those who will be intentional about spending time with God will see an increase in God’s glory upon them. This glory will be their defence. It will shield them away from the power of darkness. They will not be moved by their circumstances because they know that God is for them. Think on these things. Shalom.
