I Will Hear The Word

Isaiah 30:8-9
Now go, write it before them on a tablet … That this is a rebellious people, Lying children, Children who will not hear the law of the Lord (Isaiah 30:8-9).

As I continue to read this chapter, I see another reason why we need to pray – We must not be children who will not hear the word of God. How can we grow if we hate the word of God? How can we know the will of God and do what pleases Him if we fail to expose our spirit and mind to sound teachings of the word of God. The Lord accused the generations of old, may we not be accused in our time. Let us pray.

1. Praise God for the privilege we have to read, study and hear His word.
2. Thank Him for how His word has been transforming our lives.
3. Thank God for the Holy Spirit and how He continues to teach us the word.
4. Confess any rebellious attitude to the word of God in your life.
5. Ask the Lord to have mercy on you and your family on occasions you have refused to allow God’s word to guide your decisions.
6. Pray that sin will not build cracked wall around you.
7. Pray for a fresh love for the word of God both spoken and written word.
8. Confess Isaiah 30:15a. Pray that you will walk in peace and rest.
9. Pray that God’s word will be your guide as you navigate the rest of the year.
10. Pray that believers in your church, neighborhood and nation will discover the beauty of God’s word and love to read and live it.

Your Turn

  • Praise God for His word that makes us alive.
