Hold On To Christ

1 Corinthians 3:18-23
So don’t boast about following a particular human leader. For everything belongs to you.
1 Corinthians 3:21

This year we will witness more divisions in the body of Christ if care is not taken. The way churches and pastors
attack each other is shameful. The way we relate points to the fact that we do not see ourselves as one in Christ. We have become so divided along doctrinal and denominational lines that are not in accord with God’s word.

In my home country, this problem became real last year. Unknown to us the more we give room to division, the more the enemy gains ground to weaken us. Jesus said, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls” (Luke 11:17).

Paul said, “So you should not brag about human leaders. All things belong to you: Paul, Apollos, and Peter; the world, life, death, the present, and the future all these belong to you. And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God” (1 Corinthians 3:21-23, NCV). Let us watch. Christ is the owner of His church.

Friend, we belong to Christ. Focus on Him and His prayer for unity. Jesus prayed, “Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are” (John 17:11-12). Let us shun division and seek unity. That is what Jesus wants. All things are yours in Christ. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Ask the Lord to forgive you in any way you have contributed to the division in the body of Christ.
  • Pray for unity in the Church.
