Then he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready (Luke 22:12).

As I pondered on how Ruth was guided by the Lord to be at the right place at the right time in the field of Boaz, the Lord led me to today’s passage.

He made me to understand that if we will ask Him for help and direction, He will grant us. I seem to hear Him say: “There is no need to envy Ruth. My Spirit is in you and I will lead you if only
you will ask and let Me lead. If only you will listen and follow My instructions when I lead”.

Friend, we are under a better covenant and God has promised to lead us and show us things to come. The psalmist says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go” (Psalm 32:8). God wants to guide us. No wonder it was said of the Holy Spirit that He would show us things to come (see John 16:13).

The disciples asked Jesus where He would want them to prepare the Passover. He answered and gave them specific instructions. He told them “when you meet the man he will show you a large, furnished upper room; there make ready” (Luke 22:12). May the Lord meet us at the point of our need. May He answer us when we call and show us what to do so that we can arrive at the place of mercy and favor in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
