He Provides Sweetness

Exodus 15:22-27
So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet (Exodus 15:25).

oday’s Bible reading tells us about the arrival of the Jews in the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land. They had to learn that God was their provider. His provision in terms of food and water would continue until they reached their destination which unfortunately took longer than intended. Yet, God was not tired of providing for them. See Psalm 107.

Leaving the Red Sea, they arrived at Marah, but the water there was not good for drinking. They were thirsty. The people murmured and accused Moses.  Moses took his case to God – the God who answers prayers and provides solution. “So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet” (Exodus 15:25).

They may not have trusted Him for it, but through the prayer of his servant, God showed them that He is able to turn a bitter situation into a sweet one. Friend, it may be that the situation in your life is not related to water but you can learn the lesson and apply it.

God’s intervention covers any area that you need sweetness. Be it in your marriage, family relationship, child rearing, ask the Lord to show you what to do so that He can restore sweetness into your life. May the Lord grant you faith in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
