Mark 13:24-27; Acts 1:9-11
Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory (Mark 13:26).

Imagine that you have a close relative who is traveling abroad and he promises to bring something special for you on his return. You know this relative well that his promises are as good as done. How eager would you be for his return? I bet you will be very eager because you know when he returns you will receive a package.

In the same way, as believers we must keep our hope and expectation of the Lord’s return high because we know that something special awaits us on His return. He has promised us a mansion. We also have eternity to spend with Him and His father where there will be no more sorrow, pain or tears.

Jesus reaffirmed His word with regard to His second coming when He told the disciples before his death saying, “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory” (Mark 13:26). After He was taken to heaven, angels appeared to the disciples to confirm the same thing. See Acts 1:11.

Friend, we have enough witnesses that Jesus is coming back. Let us continually remind one another of this truth. This world is not our home. Let us live with expectation and the consciousness that one day the Lord will return to take us home. May this hope be rekindled in our hearts. Shalom.
