Have The Right Perspective
Leviticus 26:1-13
I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright (Leviticus 26:13).
Friend, pause and meditate on each verse of our devotional reading because God is speaking to us. I also sense in my heart that God is setting someone free from the bondage that has kept them down.
When God says, “I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright”. It means you are not supposed to walk with inferiority complex and a sense of self-debasement and disdain because God has set you free. By this word, none of God’s children is permitted to live in self-pity because the King of kings who sits on the throne has set us free.
We are no more captives in the hands of the enemy. It is time to become forceful in the spirit and lay hold on the victory that God has purchased for us. See Matthew 11:12. You are free in Christ Jesus. Even if you are working for someone, that does not make you a slave. You can do your work well with the dignity that shows that you belong to God.
Joseph never allowed his situation to determine his attitude and outlook to life in Mr. Potiphar’s house or in the prison. His mentality has been liberated by the understanding of his covenant with the God of Abraham, his great grandfather. We are under a better covenant in Jesus Christ. As you go out this week, think on these things. Shalom.
