God Will Stir Your Nest
Ruth 2:1-23
So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor” (Ruth 2:2).
Friend, when God is about to change your life, He will stir your nest so that you can come out and develop your wings to fly. He will do this by either making you uncomfortable where you are or by putting an idea on your mind that would test your faith and ability beyond where you are. He would make you aware that you could be more than who you are now if you are willing to step out of the boat and walk on water.
If you are willing to think out of the box, defy any
established stereotypes, you may be on your way to a change that will have lasting impact and could grow beyond you. This is what happened to Ruth. We do not know what happened behind the scene or how long Naomi struggled with depression after their return. But one thing we know is that God woke up Ruth and gave her a dream. From there onwards, we see the reason why she could not remain in Moab.
Destiny was calling because she would be used by God to restore Naomi’s life and give her a future and a hope. She was also meant to become a part of a bigger story than she would have been in Moab. It is my prayer that the Lord will teach us deeper truths from this chapter.
Your Turn
