God Is At Work
Ruth 2:1-3
There was a relative of Naomi’s husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech. His name was Boaz (Ruth 2:1).
It is such a joy to know that God is the God of order and nothing is hidden before Him. I believe that the inclusion of verse 1 before the rest of the verses in our devotional passage was not an accident. It was not a literary error on the part of the writer or the translators. God wanted to send a message across. To Him, there is no accident because He is the God who works behind the scene and works all things together for good.
Just when we were told that there was a wealthy relative of Elimelech, at the same time the Lord was stirring up Ruth’s heart to go out and look for a job. Coincidence? No! God, the extraordinary strategist was at work. Who would have thought that Ruth’s job search would lead her to Boaz’s field? Only God who orders steps could do that.
Friend, I have hope that God is at work in our lives. When He is ready, He will lead us to the prepared place; the place of favor where we will be ushered into His purpose. He will lead us to the
right people who will be part of our destiny. Do not be discouraged. Trust God to help you bring something good out of what you have left.
Ruth was unaware of Boaz. But God knew him. God knows who you need and He will connect you to them soon. Let us pray.
Your Turn
- Thank God for His love for you. Praise Him for the good plan that He has for your life.
- Pray that God would order your steps into the right places and persons.
