God Give Us Christian Homes!

Psalm 128:1-6
The Lord bless you out of Zion … Yes, may you see your children’s children.
Psalm 128:5-6.

The marriage institution and the family are going through lots of attacks in our time. For this reason, we will pray and ask God to save our homes, our families, children, and those of our friends.

The key to the restoration of peace and joy in our homes lies in verse 1. If we fear the Lord, peace will be our experience. When a man fears the Lord and plays his role well, God will restore his home. Who will not want the blessings of God mentioned in verses 3-4? These blessings are evidence that the man fears Him. A good home, a godly wife, and obedient children are rare to find in a package these days.

When a wife loves the Lord and her husband and seeks only his good, she will reap it. When the children understand their roles in the family and are obedient, they will reap the joy that comes from having a good home. Even if their parents are not as rich as the Jones. A god-fearing home cannot be traded for wealth.

Let us pray using the words of this hymn: God give us Christian homes! The God of heaven and earth will hear us:

God give us Christian homes!
Homes where the father loves and cares,
Homes where the mother cares and protects,
Homes where the children are taught the ways of Christ
Homes where the Master is Lord and King.
