Go Further
Jude 4, 22
Be merciful to those who doubt (Jude 22, NIV).
We move on to the next thing we need to know as we respond to errors and our relationship with these “certain men” that deny God and use the grace of God as a cover for sin. Jude said, “Be merciful to those who doubt” (Jude 22, NIV). It means we have to go the extra mile. We must show mercy to them.
The assumption here is that we must never view them as people that cannot be saved. If God saved us and we now know the truth and are walking in it, they can be saved too. In our conversation with them, it is not our duty to condemn them.
The book of Jude and other portions of the Bible is clear about the fact that God will condemn and judge them. We show mercy because we know that the devil has taken over their minds to use them to foment trouble in the kingdom of God.
As we show mercy, we will pray and intercede that God will touch them. Even at the point of their death God can still save them. We have heard several testimonies of how God saved former atheists, Muslims and Christians who wandered away from the truth.
To those who doubt, we pray that God’s word will take root in their hearts. God can do it again. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Thank God for His mercies that you and your family have enjoyed.
- Pray that you will show mercy to those who doubt the way of Christ.
