Don’t Waste The Ground
Luke 13:6 -9
If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down (Luke 13:9, NLT).
Friend, I believe it is too early to give up on your dreams. It is also too early to throw away your New Year resolution
which I believe you made under God.
You cannot afford to occupy space in the purpose of God and do nothing. That is why the word to us today is: “Don’t Waste the Ground”. God has planted you in a church, denomination, fellowship, career, office, etc. You must do your part and make positive contributions.
We are the children of God. We are loaded with His creative power and grace. All we need to do is to discern and walk in the path that He has chosen for us or led us into. This is the way to pursue fruitfulness by design. It does not come by happenstance.
From the parable we read, the Vineyard owner expected to see some fruits. When he did not he lamented saying, “I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig! Cut it down. It’s just taking up space in the garden.” (Luke 13:7, NLT). Thank God for the timely intervention of the Vine keeper, the owner would have done what he wanted.
In the same manner, God expected our lives to be fruitful (see John 15:1-8). If we fail, we are treading on shaky ground.
Today, the Holy Spirit is interceding for us. Let us respond and bear fruit. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Ask the Lord to pour fresh grace on you.
- Pray for all that you need to be focused and fruitful.
