Don’t Be Deceived
Deuteronomy 11:16-21
But be careful. Don’t let your heart be deceived so that you turn away from the LORD and serve and worship other gods (Deuteronomy 11:16, NLT).
Back at home in the Charlotte, North Carolina, in the United States of America, Andy was a strong believer. He and his family had served the Lord since he was a child. Late last year he was posted to the Middle East on a job. Far away from home his faith began to shake as he mingled with friends in the office.
At a point he became confused and was tempted to give up on the idea that Jesus Christ is the Son of God because other faiths did not esteem Him so. One day, while resting in the afternoon, the Lord led him to today’s passage.
Our focal text caught his attention and he asked himself whether he was being deceived to believe that the faith that was passed on to him from his parents was not real. The Holy Spirit whispered to him: “Yes, you are. You need to go back to the gospels and listen to My Son again”. Andy thanked the Lord and began a new journey into the Gospels.
Friend, I do not know where you are and how strong your faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ. I encourage you to stand strong. Do not be deceived. We are in the last days and the enemy is not resting in his quest to take many away from the faith. Jesus Christ remains the way, the truth and the life. If you stand for Him, He will stand for you. Shalom.
Your Turn
