Disobedience

Deuteronomy 28:2; 15-23
And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
(Deuteronomy 28: 23).

isobedience to God’s word and His instructions to us will cause Him to shut the heavens over our lives. When we disobey God, we are actually partaking in the sin of rebellion, which the Scripture frowns at.

When we disobey, we are saying, “God, don’t just worry about me, I can handle my life any way I want because I know what I am doing”. Yet, we forget what He says, “Without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

Our disobedience exposes us to harm. This could include demonicinduced tragedies because we have lost our edge and our covering. The prince of the power of the air who lives in the children of disobedience is also given a free hand when we disobey God’s instructions (Ephesians 2:2).

Disobedience could be personal or general. For example, God might have laid down certain rules for me to follow which may be directly linked to my calling and the anointing upon my life. This may not be required of you. If I disobey, I will face the consequences because the instruction is meant for me, not anyone else.

For example, only Samson was told not to cut his hair. The day he disobeyed the Nazarene vow he got into trouble. Friend, what rules are you supposed to keep continually so that the heavens over your head may be clear?  Think and respond .Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Pray as you are led.
  • Pray for your country today.
  • Ask the Lord to do what He pleases with those who are bent on ruling without His approval.

Song: My body is Your sanctuary.
