Cut Them Down

Psalm 118:1-14
They surrounded me on every side, but in the name of the Lord I cut them down (Psalm 118:11).

It is another time to pray. We will rise up and take responsibility in the areas that the Lord has given us authority over. This is what the psalmist did. When the enemy surrounded him to attack and destroy his life, he accepted responsibility and cut the enemy down in the name of the Lord. He understood that the name of the Lord is powerful. He understood that the name will do wonders.

This is what David did in 1 Samuel 17 when he faced Goliath. David told Goliath you come against me with sword, but I come against you in the name of the Lord. See 1 Samuel 17:45. God turned David’s stone to a bullet that shattered Goliath’s head.

God had given us the same authority. We have His name. See Mark 16:17-18. Let us use it. Let us not whimper and die under satanic attack because we are lazy or lack knowledge of what to do. God has spoken that no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper and every tongue that rise up against you, you shall condemn. See Isaiah 54:17.  Open your mouth and condemn it. It will answer to you.

Fiend, it is time to be on the offensive. Fight. Do not wait for the enemy to make a mess of your life. Let us pray.

Your Turn

  • Read through our passage again and look into your life to  see where the enemy is wreaking havoc and destroy his  attack in the name of the Lord.
  • Cast down every imagination that is incensed against you and your family.

Song:  In heavenly armor we enter the land, the battle belong to the Lord.
