Continue To Stand

1 Corinthians 15:1-2
I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand (1 Corinthians 15:1).

We conclude our study by saying that the best way to sustain the assurance of salvation we have is to continue to stand in faith based on the word of God and the faith we have received. No child can grow without the necessary food and nutrients.

Paul knew what the Corinthians church was facing. He understood their concerns about life now and hereafter. He reminded them of what they believe and stand on. “I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand (vs. 1). The same is true for us.

We must continue to avail ourselves of the opportunity to learn at the feet of Jesus; remind ourselves of the simplicity of the gospel and how we came to faith. We must continue to stand on it. In this way we will be free from doctrines that are contrary to the word of God. Rather, we will be like the psalmist who says, “I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved” (Psalm 16:8).

Fix your eyes on Jesus; remain in His word and stand. Your faith will be strong and the assurance you have about eternal security and eternal life will remain unshaken.

Shalom.
