Continue To Do Good

2 Thessalonians 3:13; 3 John 1:11
And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good (2 Thessalonians 3:13, NIV).

Apostle Paul reminds us of the need to continue to do good.

We do not cease to be who we are because we have busy bodies around us. Our life should influence them not them influencing us.

He said, “And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good” (2 Thessalonians 3:13, NIV). In another place the Bible says, “Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God” (3 John 1:11). We are to continue to do good and God will reward us for it.

This reminds me of the story of a young brother in my community who decided to do something so he would not depend on others to meet his needs. Though an undergraduate, he engages in small business to support himself.

His commitment to church remains unbroken. This has endeared the heart of many brethren towards him. He is blessed by occasional supports from brethren. In addition to meeting his own needs, he also helps those who are in need around him. The cycle continues.

Such people make it easy for brethren to support them. But even when we can not find people who live like this brother, we must continue to do good because God expects us to. Shalom.
