Continue To Do Good

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21, NKJV)

This week the Lord wants us to seek to do good at all time.

The Bible says, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21 NKJV). Friend, we must continue to do good because the world is becoming more hostile to Christians.

We need to overcome evil with good (see Romans 12: 21). We need to walk in the way of the Lord’s command so that our righteousness can speak for us when we are attacked or mistreated by the opposition. The new wave of attacks and opposition around the world will span every sphere of life – our workplaces, homes, families, neighbourhood and nations.

Many believers in different parts of the world are already experiencing unusual hatred and persecution. I sense in my heart that these will continue. Not only that, the scripture says so (see Matthew 24).

We will continue to do good when we follow the commands in Micah 6:8 to “act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (NIV) as follows:

  1. Do what is right according to God’s word and standard. Regardless of what the enemy does, do not retaliate with anger and bitterness.
  2. Show mercy at all time. We can only do this when we rely on the grace of God to help us. Where offence has been committed, seek to forgive and move on.
  3. Embrace humility. Humility is power and strength under control. It is recognizing that who we are and what we are is by the grace of God. Let us be humble in the way we deal with others. No one can deny the need for respect and honour.

May the good God help us to “overcome evil with good” in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.
