Continue In His Commands
2 Thessalonians 3:4-5
We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command (2 Thessalonians 3:4, NIV).
Many times I fall guilty of having confidence in people or trusting them to follow through on what we agree. This
is due to past experience with painful disappointments.
But the Apostle Paul believed better things of his audience. He writes, “We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command” (vs.4, NIV). He had faith that they would do what he had told them to do in the letters sent to them.
Friend, it is my prayer that we will gladden the heart of the Master by continuing to walk in the truth that we know as we strive to obey His commands. I also pray that God will have confidence in us to trust Him and stand for Him as we see evil abounds in our society.
May the Lord help us not to derail or veer off the way of peace and salvation as a result of injustice in our land. We must endeavor to remain in Him and shine as lights because that is what we have been commanded to do. See Matthew 5:14.
Let us rise and shine as light in a dark world. Remember, God has great joy when we walk in truth. See 3 John 1:4. May the Lord help us as we think on these things in Jesus’ Name.
Shalom.
