Confirmation Of Judgment
Micah 1:1-16
This will happen because of the terrible sins of Israel, the descendants of Jacob. Samaria has led Israel to
sin … Micah 1:5, CEV.
Prophets Micah and Isaiah were contemporaries. Both prophesied in the days of Kings Jotham, Ahaz, and
Hezekiah. A closer look at the word of the prophecy confirm the similarities in the visions and the messages they received from the Lord.
Micah’s message affirms the need for judgment because the people have sinned and failed to heed the voice of the Lord. The Bible says, “This will happen because of the terrible sins of Israel, the descendants of Jacob. Samaria has led Israel to sin, and pagan altars at Jerusalem have made Judah sin” (Micah 1:5, CEV).
Imagine, the number of prophets speaking on the same issues and the people did not relent nor turn from their wicked ways. This is our behavior in our time too. The Lord has spoken to us through His word and His messengers, but we continue in our evil ways.
It appears the more the number of churches in our streets, the more sin and iniquities increase in our land. We talk about corruption and impunity, yet the perpetrators of these acts are religious people who visit holy lands.
Friend, we cannot fool God. The fact that He has not judged us like the people of old is because of the Lord Jesus and His mercy. It is to give us time to repent. When judgment comes no one will be able to stand. Think on these things. Shalom.
