Characteristics Of A False Teacher (II)
Jude 8-11
In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings (Jude 8, NIV).
Continuing from where we stopped, we will look at other characteristics of these false teachers and apostates. The passage we read reveals more to us.
- False teachers devise their own belief s ystem through their imaginations and dreams. This is also common in our days. What these men do is to mix lies with the truth so that unsuspecting men and women will not notice it. They use the Scriptures to support what they say. But by their fruits we would know them. If we pay attention to the witness of the Holy Spirit in us, He will guide us into all truth, we will not be deceived. See John 14:13; Romans 8: 16.
- False teachers reject authority. A good example is that of Korah and his men in the wilderness when they attacked God fought for His servant, they were killed. See Numbers 16. Those who followed their part have no respect for godly and constituted authorities. They cause and fuel crisis in the church.
They could be leaders whom satan has possessed to derail the church from the path of grace and love for the gospel. They could also be rich or influential people in the church who seeks to control the leadership rather than allow them to be led by God’s Spirit. God will not allow them for too long. They will be judged.
