Celebration 20 Further
Revelation 11:15-19
For this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10b
This year our celebration of God’s faithfulness and His pleasant surprises continues. We refuse to be downcast,
depressed or bowed down by the happenings around us in our lives, families, community and our world. We will not yield to the influence of the bad news we hear daily to hurt our spirit.
Why? We choose to rejoice and celebrate because we know the scores of the game. The Bible makes it clear that in the end, we shall win. “And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The kingdoms of this world have become the
kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!’” (Revelation 11:15). Whatever happens,
Christ reigns.
Our joy is important. Jesus encouraged His disciples to cheer up in John 16:33. When the Jews saw how much they had erred and failed the Lord, they were sober. Nehemiah encouraged them saying, “This day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10b).
Friend, we will continue to celebrate and be intentional in our rejoicing because we know God. We know He loves us. So, let the hope of eternity and the reign of Christ release joy into your heart. Let the celebration continue! Shalom.
Your Turn
