Causes Of Closed Heaven

Luke 5:12-19
And it came to pass in those days, that he went out
… to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. (Luke 5:12).

I trust that the Lord has been speaking to us, encouraging us to draw closer to Him. Let us pay attention as we explore the causes of closed heaven.

Abandoned personal altar: Nothing closes the heaven quicker over a man’s life like abandoned prayer altar. Prayerlessness exposes a man to attacks and destruction. No wonder it is said that a prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. Jesus maintained a close walk with God through prayer.

Where does power come from? True power comes from God who opens the heaven and place His hands upon you. When does He do it? It is in the place of prayer and fellowship with Him. In most cases, God anoints a man privately before He does it openly.

Busyness: We neglect our personal altar because we are too busy. Yet, if we are too busy to plan time to spend with God, we are too busy. It means we have encumbered our lives with activities that are not meant to be there.  One of the meanings of the word “busy” is to be ‘full of activity’.

Friend, open heaven comes with responsibility. You need to keep your altar of consecration before the Lord and burn the incense of prayer regularly. Jesus”went out … to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God” (Luke 5:12). We are expected to do the same.
