Call For Help

Isaiah 37:1-7
And so it was, when King Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and
went into the house of the Lord.
Isaiah 37:1.

Whenever you receive bad news where do you run to? Whenever you are threatened by men who do you call upon? In the day of trouble do you have a stronghold that can take you in?

Priscilla J. Owens writes, “Will your anchor hold in the storms in life … We have an anchor that keeps our soul/steadfast and sure while the billows roll”. Friend, we need an anchor for our soul in the day of trouble. Hezekiah realized that if the Lord does not help them, they are doomed. He ran to God.

The Bible says, “When King Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the Lord” (Isaiah 37:1). Not only that, King Hezekiah sent messengers to Prophet Isaiah too. He asked for spiritual support because he must have an answer.

God answered, “Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me” (Isaiah 37:6). Hallelujah! Can you see what I saw? My enemy is God’s enemy. King Sennacherib harassed the people and blasphemed their God. God saw it as an affront on Him and stepped in.

Friend, your case is different. You belong to God. Your enemies are God’s enemies. Take your case to God. Let Him fight for you. Pray. Do not keep silent. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Take your challenging situation to the Lord. Ask Him to step in and grant you victory.
  • Pray for confidence and peace of mind as you wait on the Lord for His intervention.
