Bring Back Our Captivity

Psalm 126:1-6
Bring back our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the South.
Psalm 126:4.

The Bible says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life” (Proverbs 13:12). The Israelites were happy when their captivity was turned around.

Friend, I know that many of us did not achieve our dreams and aspirations this year, yet we look forward to greater victories in 2020. Today, we will pray and ask the Lord to help us as we pursue His plans and purposes for our lives. We will pray: “Restore our fortunes, Lord, as streams renew the desert” (Ps 126:4, NLT).

You can use the following prayer points as a guide:
1. Ask the Lord to turn your captivity around in the New Year.
2. Precious Father, please fill my mouth with laughter. Mention the specific area(s) of interest. Remember, it is
specific prayers that get Heaven’s attention.
3. Father, make my life a point of reference to your power in the New Year.
4. Father, I want to testify of Your goodness and faithfulness in 2020. Do not forsake me.
5. Ask for an end-of-year miracle. I have experienced this before; so take this prayer point seriously. Remember, a
thousand years is like a day in God’s sight.

Remember, “Where God leads you to pray, he means you to receive” Charles Spurgeon. Rejoice for you will reap the harvest of your prayer according to verses 5-6 in Jesus Name.

Your Turn

  • Pray: Thank You, Lord, for hearing me and watching over Your word to perform it in my life. Amen.

Hymn: All hail the power of Jesus Name.
