Be Thankful
Psalm 100:1-5
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name (Psalm 100:4).
To be thankful is to be grateful, appreciative, pleased or glad. When we are thankful it means we appreciate what someone has done for us. In our case, today’s admonition is a call to come before the Lord to appreciate Him, be thankful and bless His name.
Our God is a great God. He created us in His own image and put His breath in us. He did not allow you to come as a snake or a lizard. He created you a little lower than Him and even called you a god because you are His child. See Psalm 82:6; John 10:34. What an honor and privilege this is.
The Bible says, “For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations” (Psalm 100:5). The Lord has been good and merciful to us. If the Lord counts iniquity I know we cannot stand. But He continues to forgive and cleanse us with the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, so that we can approach Him boldly and unashamed.
Today, thank Him for the access you have to Him through the Lord Jesus Christ. Focus your thoughts on thanksgiving. Look at what God has done and your heart will respond in praise to the King who sits on the throne. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Be thankful to the Lord and bless His name for all the mercies and victories you have received.
- Thank Him on my behalf too. Thank you.
Song: I will praise You from everlasting, everlasting to everlasting.
