Be Imitators Of Me

1 Corinthians 11:1 ; Isaiah 35:3-4
Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

The focus of today’s devotion is to encourage us to respond to the word of Christ by becoming encouragers to others in their times of need. We all face trials at different seasons in life. When we do, we will need the help and support others.

This understanding was the reason they sent Timothy to Thessalonica. His mission was to strengthen and encourage them because they need it. He knew that when we are weak we need someone to encourage us,  strengthen us and keep us focused on the goal.

Jesus encouraged His disciples by telling them He has overcome the world for them. This is encouraging because no matter what they would go through in life; victory is theirs in the end. See John 16:33.

When the Israelites were weak, God sent His prophet to them saying, “Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you”” (Isaiah 35:3-4).  That is the encouragement that we need too.

Friend, let us imitate these godly acts. The Bible says, “Be imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). May the Lord strengthen your heart and faith. May you become an encourager. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Thank God for this word. Praise Him because you will not be forgotten.
  • Declare to yourself that you will be satisfied in this season.
