Barrenness And Loss Of Spiritual Appetite
Matthew 5:1-6
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6).
Today, we will continue to look at more signs of closed heaven Barrenness and depleting intimacy: Many times our lives are barren because there is no intimacy between us and the Father. Whenever we notice a depleting intimacy we need to check it to be sure that we do not have a broken fellowship.
When a man cannot pray and access God’s presence through worship as easily as he used to, it is time for such a person to begin to ask questions like, “Am I living under a closed heaven?” “Is everything alright between me and the Father of Light?”
Loss of spiritual appetite: When someone begins to have low appetite for the things of the spirit such as having times of regular prayers, reading God’s word and worship, then one needs not look too far, his heaven is under attack. Following closely is unanswered prayers. When they pray nothing happens because God’s attention, needed to secure answers, is not gotten.
When the heaven is closed or begins to close, someone who used to spend hours at prayers with God can make do with a five-
minute prayer. This fellow may still feel that all is well. If they are workers, they will begin to substitute service for the time of intimacy with God. It is time to watch because the curtains of heaven are gradually being closed.
