Colossians 1:25-28
For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you.
This gives you assurance of sharing his glory (Colossians 1:27, New Living Translation).

One of the benefits of studying the word of God is to know what Christ has done for us so that we can receive it, believe it and ask for its manifestation in our lives. There is no point in knowing so much of the word of God if our lives do not show it.

In order to benefit from the word of God, we must make it a habit to pray and ask God to do the good things that we see in our own lives. We must be desirous to see that our life is an evidence of the goodness of God and the delivering power of God.

Therefore, when I read today’s passage, I did not see Gentiles in the passage but I see us. When Paul used the word “them” it includes us too. We are the ones whom God grafted in to be saved so that we can become partakers of the grace of God. We can say that Christ in us is the hope of glory too.

The New Living Translation Bible says, “Because Christ lives in us, this gives us assurance of sharing in his glory” (Colossian 1:27). It is my prayer that you will understand this truth so that you can see yourself the way God sees you. The fact that Christ, God’s glory, lives in you gives you the right to share in His glory.

• Do we have this assurance? If no, can we ask the Lord to reveal this truth to us so that we can benefit from the  riches of the glory of God?
• Pray that your faith will receive this word so that you may begin to enjoy the blessings that God has for you.
