Assurance Of Salvation

1  John  5:9-13
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God (1 John 5:13).

Today, we will begin our meditation on Assurance of Salvation. I believe this is a timely topic for us. In the season when the hearts of many are failing them, when sin continues to abound and it seems that the grace of God has not been revealed to mankind, we need a word from the Lord. It is time for us to revisit what we have believed, strengthen our faith in whom we believe so we can stand strong.

The intended study outcomes of this edition are revealed in our focal text. John the Apostle writes to believers saying, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God” (1 John 5:13).

First, we are expected to know that we have eternal life in God through the Son. Second, we expect that our hearts will be encouraged to believe in the Name of Jesus because that is what other worldviews are contesting and denying.

Friend, it is my prayer that by the end of this quarter, you will be encouraged, strengthened and empowered through the word of God to know whom you have believed, what you have and how to continue to walk in the truth. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Thank God for another privilege to study and meditate

            On His word.

  • Pray that you will be focused to learn what the Lord wants you to learn in this season.
  • Pray that my family and I will be refreshed by the Lord.

Hymn: Here is love, vast as the ocean.
