Are We Doing What We Can?
Mark 14:8
She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial (Mark 14:8).
Extending yesterday’s devotional thought, let us turn our attention to Jesus’ second statement about the woman. Jesus said, “She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for burial” (Mark 14:8). Poor and unknown yet she did something.
The question is: As followers of Christ are we doing what we can to glorify Jesus and celebrate Him? Are we reaching out to others to tell them about Jesus? What role are we playing in our local churches and congregations to support the expansion of the kingdom of God on earth?
Sometime last year, a message went round in the social media. A church leader dreamt about the rapture and noticed that many of his church members did not make the rapture when Jesus called. Friend, it is time to wake up and be sure that we are saved. It is time to reach out to the unsaved amongst us and those who may not come within the perimeter of the church. We must do what we can.
Remember, angels are not the ones who are told to go into the world; we are the ones God commanded. Angels’ roles are supportive. They are not the lead actors in this work.
May the Lord help us as we think on these things. Shalom.
