The Lord speaks through His servant to us as we read about the judgment planned for the nations. It is interesting that God will judge everyone including His own people. You see, when it comes to sin and disobedience to His laws, God is not partial.

He judges His people and the nations with fairness. From our passage, judgment will be experienced by the Moabites, Ammonites and the Assyrians. Even the Ethiopians are not spared. When this cleansing has taken place then everyone will learn how to live right.

What is the offence? It is idolatry and adultery. Some worship idols while others mix idol worship with the worship of Yahweh. This is unacceptable. For example, you say you are a Christian, but you are still fraternizing with other religions and practising voodoo. God frowns at that!

The Bible says, “The Lord will terrify them, because He will make all the gods of the earth waste away. So, every person from every coast and nation will bow to Him” (Zephaniah 2:11).

Friend, how can we continue in sin and say God does not see? Why do we have to wait to be destroyed with others before we return to the Lord and ask for forgiveness? Sin is a reproach to any nation. It is time to seek the Lord before we are compelled to do so. Selah.
