Acknowledge The Lord
Isaiah 30:1-5
The Lord said, “How terrible it will be for these stubborn children. They make plans, but they don’t ask me to help them. They make agreements with other nations, without asking my Spirit. …”
Isaiah 30:1, NCV.
The wise man writes,” Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). This talks about trust and dependence on God.
A closer look at our focal text gives us the understanding that moving forward in life is not the problem. Making progress, forming new networks and alliances is not the issue. The issue is before we seek to make those changes and movements, have we consulted God about it.
God cares about us. He knows the way and wants to lead us. He wants to guide us and make sure that we do not end in trouble or fall into the trap of the enemy and lose our soul. The Bibles says,” “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the Lord, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, and who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin” (Isaiah 30:1).
Let us move away from the path of rebellion. Let us seek the Lord for direction on what to do before we make the move and effect those changes. When we do, we will be confident to say, “The Lord is my shepherd. He leads me in the path of righteousness” (See Psalm 23). We will be at peace knowing that God is with us. We will also be glad we did. Shalom.
