A Hymn Of Praise
Isaiah 12:1-6
O Lord, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me.
Isaiah 12:1.
Hallelujah! What a joy to know that God has forgiven our sins and comforted us. Friend, worship should be our
heart’s response when we have been forgiven and our iniquities pardoned by the Lord. Those who know how it feels to be delivered from the guilt of sin will praise the Lord when their sins are cleansed.
The hymn writer gave to us this revelation and understanding. Following forgiveness and the promise of restoration, a hymn of praise was raised to the Lord. The writer says, “O Lord, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me” (Isaiah 12:1).
God was right in judging His people. Yet, their punishment did not match their offence. God turned His anger away and restored them. Indeed, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity…” (Psalm 32:1-2).
Friend, make praise a habit. We must not take God’s mercy and grace for granted. Our salvation was paid for by Jesus Christ even though we receive it free. Let us continue to appreciate Him and rejoice in Him.
With joy in our heart and with gratitude we will continue to draw blessings from the well of salvation. May the Lord teach us how to appreciate Him and worship Him with heartfelt praise at all time. Shalom.
