Call For Back Up
Judges 6:33-35
Then the Spirit of the Lord took possession of Gideon. He blew a ram’s horn as a call to arms, and the men of the clan of Abiezer came to him (Judges 6:35).
When it comes to spiritual warfare we must not be shy to ask for help. I am a firm believer in calling for back up when the attack I am facing is more than I can handle. I love telling my friends and spiritual covering what is going on. I sometimes refer to this action as reporting the enemy.
Why? It is because I want to win the battle and not become a casualty in the hand of the enemy. Moreover, the Bible says, “Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you” (Leviticus 26:7-8). If I am praying on an issue and other friends are praying, the heat will be on the enemy. He will run!
As soon as Gideon noticed what the enemy was doing, he called his people to war. He also called for backups from other tribes. He knew the cruel nature and wickedness of the enemy that is coming against them. We must not be foolish.
Many have engaged in spiritual warfare alone and lost their lives or position because they lack the spiritual stamina, tact and wisdom to face the devil. May this not be your case. Be humble to ask for help from the Lord and men when you need it. Shalom.
Your Turn
- Commit yourself to the Lord and tell Him about the Battle or struggles you are facing.
- Ask the Lord to fight your battles for you.
