Do Your Part

Micah 7: 8
Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall,  I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.

Recognising how fallible and sinful I am, often times I am Rquick to judge myself. I also find it difficult to move on  when I know that I have done a grievous thing. Yet, the Lord  continues to urge us to rise when we fall.

I believe many of you can identify with me in this. Friend, if we  have asked the Lord for forgiveness and cleansing with a  sincere heart, then we have no scriptural ground to continue to  beat ourselves and let the enemy keep us on the ground. What  the Lord expects us to do is to receive His love and rise again.

The Prophet Micah understood our common dilemma when he  writes, “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I  shall arise” (Micah 7:8). Our enemy has been commanded not  to rejoice because God knows that we will not be utterly cast  down (See Psalm 37:24). God will rescue us and give us the  grace to rise again. Therefore, do your part. Rise! In your  rising, God will be your light and guide you into the path of  righteousness.

As you go out this week, stop condemning yourself. Walk in  God’s love and the enemy will be put to shame. If you continue  to replay your failures and sins in your mind, then you will not  have the courage to walk in the Lord’s fresh light. Receive the  grace to move on in Jesus’ Name. Shalom.

Your Turn

  • Pray about the areas you are struggling.
  • Ask for grace to confess your sins and receive forgiveness and rise again.
  • Pray for believers who may be struggling with selfcondemnation.
