Step Out In Faith
Judges 1:3-4
So Judah said to Simeon his brother, ‘Come up with me to my allotted territory, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I will likewise go with you to your allotted territory.’ And Simeon went with him (Judges 1:3).
Reading through this chapter, there are several truths I saw as a result of the Judahites’ response to God’s choice for them to start the battle against their enemy. Some of which are:
1 They believed the word of the Lord and set out to work.
2. They sought help and assistance having examined themselves and knew that they had such a need. From verse 3, we can see the team spirit working. Perhaps without the help of the Simeonites they might not have been able to go all the way to pursue the enemy.
3. When they obeyed God’s word, God did His part. This we see in verse 4. Judah attacked and God gave them the victory.
Applying these to ourselves: How quick are we in obeying the Lord when He speaks to us? How good are we in estimating our strength and ability to know if we have what it takes to do an assignment? Are we humble enough to know when we need to call for help? Think on these things.
